Jim Dowd

Vice President, East Coast Consulting

Jim Dowd is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the consulting & investigative division of Andrews International's East Coast office. His expertise in this area includes due diligence related to individuals, organizations and issues; occupational fraud and abuse investigations; personal protection and threat assessments; security vulnerability and risk assessments; travel security intelligence and logistics management; and expert witness litigation support.

Jim is a 15-year veteran of the New York Police Department, from which he retired as a result of a line-of-duty gunshot injury received in 1981. Jim has experience as a detective and an undercover operative in the Organized Crime Control Bureau and Drug Enforcement Task Force. He was also a detective sergeant in the Chief of Detectives Field Internal Affairs Unit and a detective squad commander in the Detective Bureau. He has extensive experience in all aspects of investigations and has received training from the NYPD, DEA and FBI in surveillance techniques, use of various types of video and photo equipment, body wires, interview and interrogation techniques, report writing, chain of custody and search and seizure.

Previously, Jim was president and director of investigations at IS2000, Inc., which provides investigative services to corporations, insurance companies and attorneys throughout the East Coast region.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York.
